Chicken on a Mission Needs You!

Chicken on a Mission is Saturday, Oct. 18 from 10:30 to 1 p.m., and your help is needed! Friday night volunteers will be setting up tables, and more volunteers are needed for cooking, serving and clean up on Saturday. Childcare will be provided from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday for volunteers with young children. Baked goods (especially cookies and brownies) are still needed and can be individually wrapped and dropped off Friday in the Stroud Building. There’s plenty to be done, and everyone is needed in this fundraising effort. For more information, contact the church office at (252) 746-6524.

AUMC Hires New Youth Intern

Ayden UMC is pleased to announce that Sarah Grace Gaines, a junior at ECU, has joined us as our youth intern for the 2014-2015 school year. Sarah Grace will lead our Sunday night Methodist Youth Fellowship, as well as other MYF events and activities.

Sarah Grace is studying psychology with a minor in child development and family relations. She is originally from Nashville, Tenn. and lived there until she was 13. Her mother is a Methodist pastor at Fairmont UMC in Raleigh, and her job brought the family to North Carolina. Sarah Grace’s father is a professional “handyman.” She has a younger sister, Hannah Faith (18), and a younger brother, Luke (15). Sarah Grace has been a part of UMYF since she was in 5th grade and has a passion for helping others, especially in their walk with Christ.

The first meeting of AUMC’s Methodist Youth Fellowship will be on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. All youth in grades 5 and up are invited to join Sarah Grace as she leads MYF!
