Trunk or Treat!
AMC will host a modified Trunk or Treat on Sunday Oct 25 from 4-5 PM. Tell your neighbors! Invite your friends!
As a way of showing love to our community in this most unusual year, we’re once again hosting our annual Trunk or Treat event, even if things look a little different this year. While we won’t have the hot dogs and popcorn like we usually do, that just means we can get straight to the good part – CANDY!
In order to love our neighbors and help keep everyone healthy, masks will be required of trunk sponsors and participants. Trunk sponsors will back in along the third street sidewalk leaving room for a one-way path for the trick or treaters. Tables are available for trunk sponsors to place behind their trunks to help with physical distancing. Families will be allowed into the candy line only as the family before them moves on to the next trunk.
If you want to sponsor a trunk, but haven’t told us about it yet, please respond to this email. If you want to help by donating candy, please “pre-package” candy in small ziplock treat bags and drop them off at the church before Friday Oct 23 at noon.
It would be easy to look at all of those restrictions and ask “how is this going to be any fun?” but I have faith that long after our event, the one thing people will remember is how the people from that church on third street did their best to reach out and love them even when things were strange and scary because of COVID-19.
Folks, that’s us. The people who see the obstacles and figure out a way to love people anyway.
I will always be grateful for that.
