Welcome and Invocation
Leader: As a father receives a returning wayward son,
All: so God welcomes us, and lets the past be past.
Leader: Therefore let us praise God in thanksgiving that we are received,
All: and let us receive and welcome one another in the name of Jesus Christ.
Opening Prayer
O God, though you are enthroned in heaven we may draw near to you for you have walked upon the earth where we humans dwell. We see your compassion in Jesus. We know your will by his teaching and your love through his sacrifice. Teach us that we belong to you, that you belong to us and that you are enough. Amen.
