Ayden UMC recently welcomed two new staff members: Tarvick Linder, our new Director of Music, and Taylor Nelson, our new Youth Intern.
Currently Travick is employed as the band director at North Lenoir High School and serves with the National Guard in Raleigh, N.C. Originally from Rocky Mount, he now lives in Wilson.
Tarvick graduated from UNC-Greensboro with a degree in Music Education and a minor English Literature. Before attending UNC-G, he served in the military for 15 years, including a one and a half year tour in Afghanistan.
AUMC is fortunate to have Tarvick, a talented musician who plays trumpet, French horn, saxophone, percussion and guitar. Please help AUMC welcome this enthusiastic musician to lead our youth and chancel choirs.
Taylor, a sophomore at East Carolina University’s Honors College, will lead AUMC’s Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) during the 2015-2016 school year.
During MYF on Sunday nights, Taylor will use “The Way I’m Wired” curriculum with the youth. This six week series focuses on the fact that each of us were blessed with talents and spiritual gifts that we must use to spread God’s love. She plans to incorporate learning and fellowship during each Sunday night gathering.
Taylor plans to get her degree in nursing and hopefully teach nursing students one day. Because she has a passion for helping others, she is a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority.
AUMC is thrilled to have Taylor as our new youth intern, and we look forward to a wonderful year for our youth!
