Too often we think about confirmation as a checkpoint along the journey of faith, something that everyone just does. What if it was something more? What if we thought about confirmation as the beginning of a conversation about what it means to be a Christian, living out your faith, your commitment, and God’s call.
Beginning in May, Ayden UMC youth ages 11-14 are invited to join our confirmation class in preparation to accept and affirm the vows taken for them in baptism and become professing members of AUMC. This class is open to any young person considering full membership in the United Methodist Church and it will consist of 5 weekly sessions meeting Wednesday evenings at 7 pm; May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29 and June 5. The confirmation service will take place as part of our regular Sunday worship service on Pentecost, June 9. We will meet during Sunday School (10 am) on June 9 to prepare.
Anyone interested in participating in confirmation classes for 2019 should contact the pastor before Easter (April 21) to sign up.
