AUMC will celebrate Homecoming and Heritage Sunday during the 10:55 service on Sept. 22. This is a time to remember and be thankful for the many years AUMC has been a part of this community and how our church has shaped lives and faithfully shared Christ’s love.
Our district superintendent, Rev. Linda Taylor will be speaking during the Homecoming service. She will be bringing AUMC a word of “Celebration” from Romans 12:1-13. Rev. Taylor has been a pastor since 1984 and has been the district superintendent of the Sound District since its creation in June 2012.
Immediately following the service in the sanctuary, all members and guests are invited to a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall. Please bring your favorite dish to share, and join us as we fellowship together. Dishes can be dropped off in the Stroud Building or put in the kitchen refrigerator if needed.
There will also be a Heritage Sunday display in the fellowship hall, so be sure to take the time to learn more about the history of the church.
Also note that the 8:45 a.m. service is cancelled for Homecoming and will resume the following week at 9 a.m.
